One day more (Saturday 6/22)....
Jambo Jambo! Welcome to David Hadly's Africa Safari Blog! I will be posting about Elizabeth and my trip to Northern Tanzania as often as I can. Of course, everything I write will be incredibly interesting.... to me. To you it may be more boring than watching grass not grow. For this reason, I plan on trolling raw meat behind our truck to attract some carnivorous attention, dropping dynamite in a couple volcanoes, annoying as many mother elephants as possible, and for exercise I'll do laps in hippo pools. So follow the blog!
While I'll be writing every day, it may be 4-5 days between chances to use internet, so expect sudden cornucopias of information according to these times frames. We fly right past Kilimanjaro and into Arusha; then we will spend several days each of Tarangiri National Park, Gibbs Farm, Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti National Park, Loliondo Game Reserve, and Lake Natron.
My goals for the trip include:
1. Collecting a male and female dik-dik to bring home and begin the first dik-dik breeding center (don't even say it Bobby) on American soil.
2. Having a vervet monkey steal my lunch... and then I steal it's lunch.
3. Not having any wild animals ever enter our tent.
4. Developing a new line of cologne that smells like Massai people... so basically a mixture of body odor and cow/goat dung.
5. Never having to use my prescription for Cipro".
Next Post- Amsterdam Layover.....
Kwaheri mi rafiki!

ReplyDeleteI'll be looking forward to your updates! :)
They have landed in Arusha, Tanzania!! The adventure begins! Must've had too much fun in Amsterdam to post. ;)
ReplyDeleteAlmost 1pm Tuesday there---you should be eating lunch at the Tarangire Gate and ready for your first game drive. Jambo, jambo!
ReplyDeleteWatch out for the Vervet Monkeys. Ken did a Mexican hat dance when one stole into our land rover and robbed the snack box. He, the monkey, was fearless.
